Thank You for that news, Tews.
Trusted Russian leaker WZOR has released some new information today revealing information knacked from internal Microsoft roadmaps/documentation, revealing information about target timeframes for Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, and Windows 7 development.
They have stated the following:
Windows 7 and Server 2008 Service Pack 2 has been worked on since the fall of 2010, and is expected to touch down if all goes well sometime in mid-2012.
In March, Windows 8 M3 development will commence.
Following M3, work on the first Windows 8 beta will begin; according to WZOR, Microsoft will release two public beta milestone builds in Windows 8′s development.
After the second beta, the RC will be worked on then released.
Approximately three months after the RC, Windows 8 will reach RTM.
And of course, following RTM, it will hit the store shelves and reach the general availability (GA) phase of development, which WZOR states will happen on Monday, January 7th, 2013.
So basically, it’s M1, M2, M3, Beta 1, Beta 2, RC, RTM. Looking forward to leaks? Well, if you’re looking for them from WZOR, they have stated that you should only expect leaks around the time of the first beta.
Of course, the above must be taken with a grain of salt; while we believe this information to be legitimate, Microsoft’s plans can and likely will change throughout the course of time.

I have little doubt the plan is for release in 2013, but with MS track record of late it won't make the first release date.
Hmmmm interesting just what - supposing it does happen - will happen to 7 users - for example in here (7 forum) if one goes to the 8 version?? Although I can take it that 7 will be supported for some time eh - like XP for eg??
Still a bit of a concern as I like 7 after my experiences with Vista and can't see how it could be better - unless it's security thing I suppose (if it's not broken.....). Having said that again I suppose I can just put it on one machine in any case.
Now forgive my total ignorance but up to beta 2 I understand but what are those other refs regarding RC RTM??
Tews will tell you all about that, but a bit of advice, when you go in to ask him , bring someone in with you.:)Code:Now forgive my total ignorance but up to beta 2 I understand but what are those other refs regarding RC RTM??
Thanks jfar hmmmm don't like the sound of that one mate (unless you want to come along for the earbashing) think I'll stay clear just like that horses' rear end lol!!
Sounds safer to google it eh??
