For me newer means, compiled at later time
A good point that has swayed my decision

I just uninstalled the leaked version and installed the official one. Its better to have an official release right.

From this page --> Microsoft Security Essentials Markets

You're too busy to spend a lot of time worrying about protecting your PC. With Microsoft Security Essentials Beta, you get high-quality protection against viruses and spyware, including Trojans, worms and other malicious software. And best of all, there are no costs or annoying subscriptions to keep track of.
Of course, that says nothing about what it will cost once it comes out of Beta - though everything I've read says that it will be no-cost.

yes, but thats because of version change. Higher doesnt mean newer, they could easy just change version for some wierd reason. For me newer means, compiled at later time. Ill use public beta, because its newer by date :)
Same here. Maybe the leaked version was miswritten. So i advice you all to use the public beta.

Files 1GB and larger must be downloaded using File Transfer Manager (FTM), which is compatible with Windows 98SE and later. In addition, FTM enables you to download a group of files, pause, and resume your download in case of interruption. Learn more on the File Transfer Manager Web site.
Anyone else have to download that even though the file is nowhere near 1GB?
