One reason I'm sticking with Windows is because I play games. In a Mac, Games are released way later than they should compared to Windows. And yes, I'm probably one of the very few people who own a Macbook but use Windows as their primary OS.

I see W7 as what Vista could and should have been – I believe it’s finally a legitimate successor to Windows XP.
Who cares about Windows 7? I bet ReactOS will be released by the time Microsoft stops issuing Windows XP security updates.

    lmao... mac versus ms... again...

I prefer windows simply cos I know it'll do the job I want it to... too many hassles with both mac and linux...

Ultimately macs only constitute 11% of the market... gee I wonder why...

The most stupid thing i hear theese days is people talking about bootcamp, and running xp/vista on Macs. Why the hell not save 1500 dls and just a buy a pc, and then run windows??

On other hand i hear too about people who tested Vista on MACS, and saying its awfull. How in the hell someone wants to run vista ( memory hog and aero) on crappy graphics devices and the cheapest memorys on the market?

Benjamine hit the nail on the head. It is a good os, I am not disputing that, nore do I hate it. My issue is it is so limited. I know what you are saying about games, and it is true, but MAC won't even make it an option. It's the fact that they won't try to give everything a customer needs, they just want to make the fanatics and MS haters happy. Their customer satisfaction is narrow minded, thats it. You can't argue that. Yes it does have its places, and you may have issues with windows, but at least MS is trying to meet the needs of everyone, not just a narrow select industry.
Mac has done nothing other than tweak their OS. Windows 7 has gone far to improve and enhence. Yes Mac has developed longer, but what have they done? It is still basically the same thing with different version numbers! What is amazingly new with OS X and what is innovative? Nothing, its an updated clone of the previous OSX. Im not trying to discourage the use of it or argue its ability to do what it dies, it just lacks the use for the larger computer market (universities/research do not count as they have their own custom build stuff anyways, they just got a kick back from mac to make their stuff for OS X only...like school funding and that stuff).

BTW, reguarding the ability to run it on your PC based computer...be aware, it can alter your BIOS and F up your computer...DO NOT TRY IT ON NVIDIA. I understand Gigabyte has better support. What common mobo would you suggest. I still use it for customers who want it. So again to get this clear, I am not opposed, I would just like more functionability for EVERYONE from OS X.

I'm not sure at any point in your post that you actually laid out what OS X limits you with software-wise, besides that most games aren't available for the platform (though some pretty heavy-hitters have started to come.) Each new version of OS X has added a significant handful of large features (spotlight, time machine, dashboard, automator to name a few) along with lots of tweaks but also a lot of application apis that developers can take advantage of to make their program very snazzy and hook into the Apple apps, unlike anything seen on any other platform. I love OS X, the iPhone, and even the ******* child mobileme, because I'd rather pay a couple bucks extra here and there so I don't waste time screwing with computers and getting all the software components to play nice. And while MS has been busy stripping out components of their OS to make it seem simple, Apple has been piling on tons of bundled programs, which, imagine this, are actually really really good!

And tons of people couldn't care less about video games.

Sounds to me you have personal issues with a little pleasure. Do you sleep at night, or are you always so serious you don't have time for that either?

BTW It has been scientifically proven that games increase your left-right brain synapses ... which not only improves your coordination, but also makes you smarter. By that I mean modest time playing the odd game. I am not talking about being an addict, just having the option to enjoy life once in a while...which is also proven to increase your life span. What is the point in working working working and buying another computer to simply work even more? Computers are an asset to my job, without it I can't work, but I also can use the money I spent to have a little joy in my work tool. You work to only work some more...and dude, you seriously should sit back once in a while and relax...if you don't your only going to die sooner and very very unhappy!

Not unless you are installing Boot 123, which replaces your BIOS with one that resembles one found within a Mac computer.

EFI-X does not alter your BIOS, it actually just tricks your MoBo into thinking it has the correct BIOS required to boot a retail copy.

As for those 'patched OS X' distros, those do not alter your BIOS in any way, shape or form.

You're overreading into what I wrote. Most people don't care about video games. They really don't. I never said 'Gamers are losers' or whatever. After a certain age, many people get too busy to play games much or lose interest in shooting 3d men in the face. Or they have fun doing other things not on a computer. But thanks for your concern for my mental health. :)

The point is pc gaming itself is a niche, and most people don't play games enough for that to much affect OS choice. I play a game every few months or so, but it's only once a year or so that I want to play a game on a desktop that is exclusive to PCs. Playing a video game is pretty low on my 'fun list'.
