Snow Leopard v. Windows 7

Ok, just making sure you weren't being bias about gamers lol. But anyways, about OS X, what is the best way to go about running it on a PC based mobo...are those EFI-X sticks better? Strange about those patched dvds, I have tried a few on a mobo that was compatible, and it messed up the bios, I ended up RMAing it. Fortunatly they sent me a new one lol. Is EFI-X also easier, because some mobos dont support those patched dvds at all. Would the EFI-X stick go around that? I have a buddy that wants to dual boot both OS X and Windows 7, and his mobo does not work with the patched version...all I get to is the Grey Apple logo and it hangs. He has an ASUS Maximus II Formula, Q6600, and a GTX 260. EFI-X work with that?

Almost everybody gets stuck on the grey apple logo. What you have to do is play with boot flags to get error messages and go from there to find out what kexts or kernel patches you need. It takes a lot of work for some people, but most hardware if you put in the effort will work reasonably well, if not perfectly

Its sad to see that most people fail to know that a sig setup to run extreme games, can handle almost everything else, even if you dont like games. Its things like higher gpu/cpu/memory clocks and fast hard drives that state the OS speed, not the oposite.
I work more than i play on my rig, and thats because the lack of time, i dont see games as something negative, its been proved that it can extend your multi-tasking capabilitys between other areas.
And no, its false that most of the people dont care about games, theres lots of independent game developers that sell 1 million copy of the game in one year, like cd-project for example. Call of Duty 4 is still being played by nearly 100.000 players every night. Not to mention about rpg´s online.
And also i think that if really OSx can handle faster than windows 7, in machines with 333mhz memory´s and low-buget gpu´s (many macs still have it) well, than it must be really the most perfect Os in history.

Hanging isn't the same as kernels panicking. Most people get hanging their first few tries, some gets it 30-40 times before it works.

@MorbidGod: that fact is that most mid-range computers on the market are plenty powerful for most users. These behemoth machines carry a range of downsides (louder, bigger, power hungry). We're at a point where form factor or UI are more important than raw power for the average Joe. If that wasn't the case, most people wouldn't be buying laptops and netbooks as their primary computers.

And, of course, games are widely played. But that's not the same as saying most people play pc games enough to impact their os choice. ~15% of game sales are for the PC. I don't have a percent, but I imagine the amount of dedicated pc gamers is a pretty small market. I personally know maybe 2 people who play PC games to any significant amount. It's a niche.

I don't know if anybody in this thread has claimed that OS X is inherently faster than 7. (although the ui does FEEL snappier and you don't keep relaunching programs like in 7, so their are some advantages to the os x model)

Mine's working pretty much perfectly, I'm just saying most people get that "stuck on apple" problem, it doesn't mean that the hacked disk won't work. It's different than kernel panicking. I just had to find the right kexts and mine works fine.
