Download Windows 7 SP1 RTM Build 7601.17514.101119-1850 via MSDN and TechNet Today

UPDATE: Windows 7 SP1 RTM and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 RTM are available via MSDN and TechNet.

Later today, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 RTM Build 7601.17514.101119-1850 will become available for download to subscribers of Microsoft’s developer and IT professional portals.

I´ve just checked both MSDN and TechNet before starting to write this article, and at this point in time the Windows 7 SP1 downloads have not yet gone live on either of the two sites.

I downloaded the sp1 (all 1.9gigs) and updated my x64. Alll went well and I have had no problems, so far.
I have a technet plus sub but this morning it was too busy and all downloads failed due to network downloads
over loading their servers. I also downloaded the 64bit w/sp1 which came to 3.1gigs of .iso

MSDN and Technet subscribers always receive the downloads earlier than the rest of us since they pay for earlier and near-unlimited access to Microsoft's products.

Because members pay hefty fees to get things before everyone else. It's not just service packs but all kinds of stuff including just about every OS that has been in existence, applications, training stuff, technical articles, etc.

There are various membership levels, each offering different access.

Mine started when I became a Microsoft MVP and I decided to continue paying for it annually after that expired.

22 Feb is the regular release date for everyone for this SP.

That's bizarre that their servers should be swamped today, when I would have thought that probably would have happened yesterday, the first day, but everything seemed normal then.

    Very weird...!!
