IE9 Superior to Safari – Browsers Running on Windows Phone 7 and iOS iPhone Respectively

Internet Explorer 9 is clearly superior to Safari in one demonstration provided by Microsoft during the Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona, Spain on February 14, 2011.

Make sure to watch the video embedded below for the IE9 vs. Safari comparison that the Redmond company did by placing side by side a Windows Phone 7 HTC device and an iPhone 4.

Didn't even have to read the whole article to know this.

Phones aside, Safari has not been that good recently, at least when it comes to the Windows version... v4 was, actually, kinda cool for its time, but other browsers were always more modern and feature-wise, and now that we have Safari 5, I can clearly see that it doesn't just struggle with other browsers, but also itself!

I'm not saying that it completely sucks; "the feel" while using Safari trumps every other browser (except Opera 11), the private browsing feature is unique compared to the same feature in other browsers; where Firefox completely sucks, not being able to separate a normal browser window and a private browsing instance at the same time; Opera 11 is the winner here, being able to run a normal and a private tab within the same window, a real lifesaver in certain situations.

This is all a purely subjective opinion, and I'll add to that the fact that Safari could be a great browser; certainly much better than it is now, but it needs a lot of work, which I don't really expect from Apple.

Have to agree Safari 5 is not good on Windows , I quite liked Safari 4 at least it worked properly but it was & is not very customizable.

Had to laugh at the demo of IE 9 competing against Firefox Beta 5 in the Fish tank demo.
He mentioned that IE 9 RC had been released so the demo should have been showing FF beta 11 the Firefox betas have been just as fast as IE 9 on the fish tank for months.
So typical of the bullshit Microsoft shovels on when talking about benchmarks.

I personally feel that a lot of the current mobile browsers focus too much on features than it does UE (user experience). Features may serve look good to beef ratings on magazine/online comparison tests but what matters most is what benefits users more than paper specs.

I wish I could disable nearly half of the current features on most of today's browsers to keep it much leaner and faster. IMO if a browser is anything less than Instant ON, Instant OFF, etc., it's too slow. I got so frustrated using a phone browser's performance that I ended up going back to my CULV + SSD for my needs. I'm not very patient as you can see.

If you want leaner on a phone try Opera Mini & let the Opera servers do all the heavy lifting.

Hello à tous. I saw the video of IE9 for WP7 and it looks persuasive.
