Microsoft planning IE9 announcement on March 14, launch imminent?

Earlier today Microsoft unveiled plans for a special celebration for "Beauty of the Web" hosted by the Internet Explorer 9 team. The Internet Explorer team made the announcement today on their blog but did not specify if this will be the launch event for IE 9.

As Neowin's sources suggest, Microsoft is planning to announce something major on this date. Exact details were not given, but they suggest that Microsoft will announce something that relates directly to IE 9. The event will begin at 9PM on Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Moody Theater.

The invitations Microsoft sent out are very similar to those of the beta launch back in September:
