Biggest problem for Microsoft when they come to release Windows 8 is Windows 7 , its so good that I can't see many upgrading to Windows 8 unless it comes installed on a new PC.
Recently their has been lot of news regarding the Windows 8 Builds, according to the information available the latest build compiled is Build 7930. The complete Build string is 6.2.7930.0.winmain_win8m2.110217-1825 which states that this build was compiled on 17th Feb. Canouna has also posted on MDL forums that Microsoft has jumped from Build 7930 to another build, with build string as 6.2.79xx.0.winmain_win8m2_escrow.xxxxxx-xxxx . It clearly states that Windows 8 Build 7930 was the last build before Windows 8 Milestone 2 Escrow and Microsoft is ready to pack Windows 8 Milestone 2 and start working on Milestone 3.
According to information available Microsoft would start working on Windows 8 Milestone 3 from February 28 which would be the last stage before Windows 8 Beta.Windows 8 Beta is also expected to be released somewhere around July 2011 so Microsoft would be working on Milestone 3 for another 4 months and add some new features in it. According to rumors Microsoft has already added multi touch interface, built in App Store and Login using Windows Live ID,but no information is available regarding the changes in user interface in Windows 8 till yet.
Update: The Windows 8 Milestone 2 Escrow build is build 7947.The complete build string is 6.2.7947.0.winmain_win8m2_escrow.110218-1608 which was compiled on February 18
Windows 8 Beta | Microsoft to start working on Windows 8 Milestone 3 soon

That's true. I was very happy to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7, but now ... I am rather happy with the OS and it will be long time before I will start using touch (I have it on the iPad and I am not at all impressed). So, what indeed will make me upgrade? Is there anything really new there? Can one at least customize the interface without the need to patch system files or run stuff like WindowsBlinds?
Windows 8 needs killer features for business, productivity, and home use to get anyone to move from 7.
Windows 8 might end up like Vista, and excellent o/s but not of importance at all.
I just hope Windows 8 won't be Cloud-based in any way, customizable, not overdone with the genuinization that made legit systems non-genuine, and will have a new, clean look.
Windows 8 ill need to be made to appeal to all and not end up like another Windows Vista.
I think the rapid advances in processors especially, and other hardware such as graphic cards, will motivate pc enthusiasts to upgrade to Win8.
i will just set back and wait to get my hands on the beta...so very excited to see it , i do love Win7 but there is much more to come and i know they are not adding much to save something for the future releases...i would like to see them improve the copy/paste process, something similar to what TeraCopy Pro dose and better.
I still "dream" of the day I see Windows Media Player redesigned COMPLETELY, with new features and updates to some old stuff that linger since version 9!
Customization is still to this day a big lack in Microsoft's products, and it would truly be awesome to see this improved, especially because the default look of Win7 is so ugly and bland (IMHO)
If the IE9 icon is any indication of the future look of Windows 8, I may be getting very excited to see the new look.
The only new "feature" I need from it is to be able to play more file formats (so that I won't have to download VLC, not that this is a big problem per se). Well, another one is to be able to actually open a file and play it, without adding to some stupid playlist or library and what not. Now, somehow, its not easy. It's easy to double-click on a file, but not easy to simply browse file from within WMP.
