Haven't really noticed anything different so far....isn't it just one big collection of all the previously released updates though?
No, not excatly...at least a quater of SP1 add hotfixes to Windows 7, not released security updates only...you lucky enough to get this from technet!!

File Index had change aswell to bigger size during a Sfc /Scannow. Ms little baby have more shape now.
Oops....guess I didn't get that right

Well, I am now the proud owner of Windows 7 SP1 Via Windows Update with a little help from Matt's Fix It. I've been waiting for something magical to happen but so far I don't see anything different.

Even with the SP1 RTM installed (on January 15th), I still received these updates:

The magic is that your box keeps working, boots up and shuts down when asked.

Agree

And I'm pretty sure your OS was working before the update - so nothing was broken with the update. Also there are a lot of under the hood changes that you won't notice.

Attachment 140062

(sorry if I'm repeating an experience already presented in this thread - I've been gone a few weeks)
Both of those updates were release on 2/21/2011 after SP1 was final. First one was a reliability update and the other was for printing XPS files.

I get the same error and thanks to the lack of info about which 'components' are supposed to be missing - I'm buggered if I know what 'missing' component is the culprit.

Out of curiosity, have you removed any Windows features via Uninstall a Program, disabled any services or altered any scheduled tasks?

Have you used DriverSweeper at all?
