    I'm not sure there is a way, basically you can hide it when it is the last tab or you can close the last tab but that will close the browsers as well.


    Edit: nevermind i found it, in about:config set browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab to false. Then you have use something to bring back the close button like tab mix plus or this stylish style.
