Although I'm too old for this --MS still going for Innovation --

Hi all
although not my cup of tea -- this stuff shows MS are still in the innovation stakes -- good they haven't yet succumbed to large corporation inertia in abandoning ongoing research.
I'm afraid the likes of Facebook,twitter and seeing youngsers forever twiddling on mobile phones attempting to contact around 4,000 Virtual colleaguies at the other end of them rather than deal with REAL people sitting next to you is something I suppose those over 45 or so have difficulty with but if you ARE making money out of this sort of stuff then MS is still in there with a big shout.
Age is clearly the difference in computing today. At 65 I find that looking for something new in computing and tech devices isn't all that important as it was just a few years ago.
Cannot get into Twitter, FaceBook, etc., nor into smartphones, iPad (or any type of tablet device). The truth be told I have never been on FaceBook or Twitter, and have no idea what you get off of Valve, or Skype.
I do like to go on to YouTube, and watch all the old videos (songs) from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's; after that (kids grew up and left home) didn't see MTV, or VH1 all that often.
Although the age group in question is most likely the one that I fall into, I have to agree. The group below mine however, they're going to need much more than luck.

At 66 I still welcome innovation.

I'm gonna be 25 in few days and i never used FaceBook or Twitter either. Tablet devices never attracted me much and for me they are unforcomfortable but that's just my opinion though they look sleek & stylish. Yes i use Skype coz i like to talk to new people from around the world :) i have friends there who are mostly older than me like 30 and 40+

I'm older -- and I'm fascinated by all of the new technologies. But as much as I love my computer, I'm not that interested in actually using some of the up and coming other products.
And yeah, I remember when old people said the same thing about the younger generation. The only difference is that they weren't right, because we were a great generation and accomplished a lot for the good of all. But when we (as a generation) make those kinds of comments now, I think that WE'RE closer to being right because it seems that so many of the 'young' people nowadays really have their priorities all screwed up. They're so busy being into social networking, and celebrities, entertainment, music, sports, fashion, trends, money, status, acquiring 'things,' etc., that they're not paying enough attention to making their world (and our planet) a BETTER place to live in.
