Yeah I found that out the hard way. Going back to 3.6 until they fix the text issue
Strange... Works on all my computers that have that problem & I wouldn't get your hopes up on a fix, its been a known issue for quite some time, Beta 5 I think is the first report of it due to the inclusion of hardware acceleration or maybe you have another newly discovered issue?

Another possible fix (I think its old & maybe its just another way to my initial tip) - # Fix Firefox 4 Font Problem in Smoothing, Blurry Rendering in FF 4 Beta

I needed the RC to run in another location as a few of my add-ons (fiddler, free download manager and chatzilla) don't work yet in FF4...or at least don't pass the check which I have yet to disable.

Still blurry, I'm already on my way back to 3.6. If it's known why aren't they doing anything about it

It's to do with how their hardware acceleration works & I don't think they can do anything about it otherwise I recon it would of been sorted by now considering they've gone through 6 betas since it was reported, shame really.

IE9 does it with my computer as well, everything looks awful & gets painful to read, Chrome is the only one where I don't get this blurred text issue using HWA, one of the reasons its my default browser.

I believe they haven't fixed it because they say it's a bug in Microsoft's Directwrite that MS itself needs to address, not Mozilla.

If just turning off the HA option in Firefox's option doesn't work, go to about:config in the address bar, and make sure that setting there is set to True.

    Thanks, did not know that

Anyone know why Google Chrome isn't affected by that bug, does it even use the same HA as FF4 & IE9?

Just got this in the mail. Don't really understand it. The link doesn't seem to lead to a download site.
I've not really been following this, I'm using Chrome and having fun with Lunascape6 at the moment.
A tip of the hat to David Ben Yosef for mentioning that browser elsewhere:)
Can anyone enlighten me as to what this is on about and/or where I can get the RC?

You can get it from the link posted here - Firefox 4 RC expected to ship roughly on March 9

    And also at majorgeeks.com - |MG| Mozilla Firefox 4.0 RC1 Download

Rumor has it this particular one is the RC, even though it's labeled as RC1 candidate or build1. Also as your email mentions.

I've been running it since last night, and I actually do notice quite a difference from Beta 12. Quite fast.
