in my opinion, 3.5 is much faster (with Win 7 7100) than 3.0.11. multiple tabs appear to open and render much quicker! however, i reverted back to 3.0.11 because the feature to open a new tab from the address bar is not working.
Strange - Running 7100 x64 here and the Middle button click (wheel Button) opens a new tab from the address bar is working fine

Well the author stated a 3.5 version is coming soon. :) So cheer up lol

If you really want to use the older version now though you can use this nifty little addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6543

It will allow you to install any addon and bypass the compatibility check.

    Re:
"I personally think that this new firefox is alot faster.. its quick to load up also on a core duo processor which the others took like 3 secs to load this one is boom boom there lol"

--All of 3.5 has been MUCH slower and more system intensive (not as bad as IE but still bad)
Example - if I can launch 400 instances (tabs/windows/etc) with no problem with one build then say 200 with the next then say 25 with the new 3.5 - that's horrid! Though with IE 8 32bit 25 windows would probably lock my system and start flipping/blanking out windows... 64bit ie much better but come on, no 64 bit flash.... what the.............................

middle click opening a new tab works fine for me, too. if, however, i type a new address in the address bar, the active tab will go to the address i typed as opposed to opening a new tab (and going to the address i typed). if it's working for you then it must be an add-on conflict. i just hate chasing down gremlins like this! thanks for your response!

Can anybody else with ff 3.5 see if this happens. I 'm running 7264 x64.

I have IE open with three tabs and minimized to the taskbar. I have FF opened with two tabs. When I minimize FF at the top right, it throws up (maximizes) IE as soon as I click on the minimize button in FF.
Try this and see if it helps.

browse to about:config create a new boolean named config.trim_on_minimize and set it to true then restart firefox.

I have had Fx 3.5 open with 75+ tabs without a hitch - until Weave started synchronizing - that took a couple of seconds to sync - then all was well again.....

The trick I use is to middle click the arrow in thee bar after entering the address. works without issue here but could be an add-on conflict as you say

couple of nice new features, but sadly the only reason i still use firefox over opera is that roboform does not integrate with opera at all
