As many people have stated, I doubt there will be a big, noticeable change between version 4/5/6.
Firefox will simply make a slight change and then claim it to be a new version causing thousands more to download the 'newer' version, when deep down all we're doing is downloading the same piece of software.

Despite this, I will be one of those that will jump straight onto the bandwagon and download it.

I have tried FF4.0 and the font rendering doesn't look right, especially when you compare FF side-by-side with IE9. Text in IE9 and Chrome looks just fine, but the FF text is a bit blurry.
I agree, the text does look a little blurry, even compared to previous versions of FF.

Nightly 7.01a just came down the pipe today. Unfortunately it is not yet compatible with any of the addons i have installed.
Most importantly adblock+, speed dial and shareaholic, the theme etc, etc.
This pretty much renders it unusable for me. 6.01a was like this at first and things got sorted within a week. After that I haven't had any compatibility problems for ages so I expect the same will happen with this build.
6.01a was blazing fast by the end of it's many iterations so I'm looking forward to getting this new version up and running soon. as I say I expect some changes even by tomorrow, if it goes like last time.
So it's back to Chrome 13.0.772.0 for a little while.

    John,

    Extensions.checkCompatibility - MozillaZine Knowledge Base

The usual, type about:config in the address bar, right click and select New Boolean and name it,

    extensions.checkCompatibility.nightly

and give it a value of false, now they will work.

Yeah, that works, but it can also give you a bunch of "potential" problems using addons that aren't compatible with the browser.

Then again, you're already using "Alpha" software (nightlies) to begin with.

Thanks guys but I think I can wait. As I say, when 6.01a came a long it had addon compatibilty problems but these were all sorted within a week.
Hopefully the same will happen again with this version.
It's no hardship using Chrome for a while anyway and I also have Opera installed.
I always have more than one browser installed and keep all my most important bookmarks etc up to date on all of them anyway

Well. Amazingly, Nightly just updated again and most of my addons are back!-speed dial, adblock, download helper and shareaholic are now working.
Still missing theme and a few others but nothing of great importance. Pretty good eh?

    Hey ho
I'm sticking with firefox 4.0 for the time being. Only reason I use Firefox is because of the adons.

    Hey ho
I still have three addons (two important) not compatible with 5.x and another seven that are compatible with 5.x but not compatible with 6.x. Only 12 out of my 22 addons are compatible with 6.x
