Seems to be so far. Then again only had it installed for about 45 minutes. Could be my imagination but it does seem that most sites are loading quicker now, especially a few that I visit that have a tendency to hang for a few seconds or more.

How is the new Alpha? Are Add-On's working o.k. with it? I turned off auto update on the last day of 4.0b13pre until I hear some feedback about 4.2a1pre.

    Thanks
All of mine seem to be working as they should. Most of them were declared incompatible, but a quick visit to about:config and adding the following (new boolean),

    extensions.checkCompatibility.4.2a

and setting it to false, and they were all re-enabled. Still showing as incompatible in the Add-ons manager, but they are working.

OK, so I installed it, but I get a weird message at the start up of it or when I try to "manage attachments" here. Other than that it does seem to run pretty speedily.

EDIT: erasing the old beta profile and making a new profile for this 4.2 ver solved the problem :)

I have tried FF4.0 and the font rendering doesn't look right, especially when you compare FF side-by-side with IE9. Text in IE9 and Chrome looks just fine, but the FF text is a bit blurry.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

    This varies a lot from system to system, site to site, but you can try this if it bothers you;

It appears the fonts on my browser have cleaned up - so quite possible the fix did work - just getting my exts/add-ons in order.

The bookmarks didn't seem to import properly (from FF3.6) at first, having created pods of interest (ok, folders containing related links), they seem to have gone all willy nilly.

SO - I hunted down a json file I created after doing a mass backup due to HHD S.M.A.R.T errors and it appears to have worked.

still going to run 3.6 and 4.0 separately

    That is an excellent addon.
I used GDI Classic mode as suggested by one of its users and achieved a major improvement in font rendering as sson as I applied it.

    Thanks Mike.

I upgraded to Firefox 4 and half of my add-ons including my theme are not updated, almost a week later since FireFox 4 release. You'd think since FireFox 4 was in RC stages for month the developers of these addons and themes would have been working on making it ready, atleast 3 days after official launch. FireFox default theme looks horrible and I despise that the loading of content is text in the lower right hand corner, I can't even turn it off. I won't go back to 3.6 because I've managed to get 4.0 to have a new flow for me but I'll continue to grip until my previous add-ons are updated including theme. I'm going to give the developers one more week until I begin emailing their ass.

    Dear JerometheGiraff,
It is a fact that many add-ons and extensions have not been up to par with FF4! The beauty and the attraction of FF were partly(if not mainly) the add-ons! I miss the color tabs and a few more security add-ons!

This is one of the funniest post I've seen here!
Let's see: free browser, free themes, free add-ons, and you think they care 'bout you complaining in email... Nothing personal, but let us know how this works out for you.

    Regards-
