It's a very bad news for me. Skype is an excellent program but I fear that Microsoft f*cks it up like they did with WLM 2011....
This! WLM just straight ticks me off and whatever they did to Windows Movie Maker! If they try to "improve it" I fear they will screw it up!
I rather like WLM, it does what it should -
no probs with the hardware/software interface, and I like the way it allows you to send piccies and links, etc....
everything works as it should - and it's not littered with adverts, like some are..
    - Skype's picture-quality is a little better, IMO..

I've done a few basic things with Movie Maker - I guess it covered my needs in that area..
if I wanted to be more creative with it, I'd probably get a bit frustrated..
    - my daughter does a bit of editing/manipulating, etc..
    - she uses Sony Vegas, and I must admit the results are rather good..

    - I've not explored the subject of movie-making to any great degree, so it's a mystery really..
    - I wasn't that upset with Movie Maker, though..

    - have you run up against it's technical limitations..??

With the old movie maker it was quite easy to see your time line, edit, add transitions and music. I could do title and crdit pages with ease. I did a music video of my band with it and was able to line the music up with the clips. With the new one I can't quite get the layout! It felt like they cut a bunch of options from it. I liked the timeline at the bottom and clips in it's own area. The last time I used the new one all I had were clips to work with and could not for the life of me figure out where the time line was. I am not saying that it wasn't the user being dumb, but I saw no time line, I couldn't cut my clips where I wanted to, or I couldn't figure out how to cut just a couple of seconds off of one clips beginning or end. It seemed to send me to the middle of the clip or some ramdom spot to cut. However with the orignal it was right in front of my face LOL!

    Old:

    New:

The old just made sense and was very user friendly. On the old one your clips sat in the open area in the pic. There was also a second view of the timeline at the bottom where you could add and adjust the audio and cut at very specific points.

I agree totally new Maker is less good than old, but I don't think that it willdoing the same error.
Me too, but the track record isn't good :)
