The build 7600.16384.090710-1945 x64 may or may not be 'gold' but it activates without time bomb which is good enough for me.
I'll keep it and see what windows update does over the coming year.
Be carefull what you say, I got a warning last night for saying something close to your post and mine was deleted by forum staff.

I really don't get you guys.... Now we have a really good OS incoming and you still think about "cracking" it. Would you ever work or sell something you invented for free?

You guys should really think how fair this is...
And don't think "If just i am doing it... it won't matter.."
As you know "Many a mickle makes a muckle"

Im not trying to convince anybody to buy it.. It just the fact the people loose jobs because of software piracy.. i hope you'll never get in that situation... i was once.. thats why i care more about piracy then others do.

    Everything is said.

I don't condone people ripping winows and uploading it to torrents, but if people want free software they will get it whether legally or not.

I don't see why more people dont just use linux, its a great os and its free.

I agree, however this isn't the gold build so things are different and I've placed my windows 7 pre-orders from MS if that makes you feel better:)

Sure enough, Windows 7 Build 6.1.7600.16384.win7_rtm.090710-1945, finalized on July 20, 2009, is leaked and available for download in the wild, and its validity is undeniable.

Windows 7 RTM Is No Go – 7600 Not the Gold Build - At least not 6.1.7600.16384.win7_rtm.090710-1945 - Softpedia
I think you quoted it wrong and caused some people confusion. The original source says July 10, not July 20.

Ah, my friend, the forbidden fruit always tastes better ...

I have my two preorders in, so no worries. I'm even using my 7600 in Home Premium trim, to see if I miss anything from Ultimate. So far, a resounding no.

I did my pre-order too just to find out now that we cannot clean install the upgrade disk, funny they didnt say that before the deal closed. I am really angry and feel ripped off for that reason alone it makes ppl look to places they shouldnt. I have legal copies of all the os's inc vista which i paid a lot for when it came out and hated it so much I never used or activated it, I should not have to install vista, activate it just to be able to use a version of WIN7 which has been paid for.. WAKE UP M$

Wait a minute... you're quoting your own blog as a source? Is that even possible?
It's called recursion. I just love it, esp. on web sites that have a link apropos of the subject of interest. When you click it, you go to the page you were already on.
