I got my invitation and installed it, but have since removed it. I'll wait for the Beta 1 version. It's just not ready. I was able to submit 7 bugs in the fist 3 hours of using it. I need to find a spare system to install it on and continue working with my new MS contact to resolve these bugs. 6 of the 7 have been confirmed by MS.

I must have downloaded something different. I installed the x64 2010 Tech Preview and absolutely love it so far. I skipped 2007, and use 2003 a lot, esp. Word, PowerPoint and Access. I do extensive software documentation in Word, and use PowerPoint to create some very large and complex process, object, data (ERDs) and use case diagrams. Some need to be printed in Ansi D or larger to be readable - see example below .

I'm a real-estate usage freak and migrate toolbox commands to the menu bar. I've played mostly with PowerPoint so far and who knws what pitfalls lie ahead, but I really love the new UI, especially the right-click and quick-access toolboxes. Many small things in the UI feel just right after getting used to a whole new environment. I'm in.

Edit: OK, I should have said "used to do extensive documentation" :).

As I said in another post, WMDC doesn't work for me with 2010. Just says Outlook not installed. It'll have to come off my drive unless there is a fix for that.

Unfortunately such is the nature of pre-releases, some stuff works better than other stuff. Fortunately I don't use WMDC, so I'm OK so far. Hope there's some workaround - have you checked the MS newsgroups/forums? That sounds like a fairly hefty malfunction.

    Edit:

This looks like a bug in Outlook - I opened the search bar above the columns - but now there seems to be no way of closing it! I've looked everywhere I possibly could ... anybody have any ideas?

BTW, wouldn't this thread be better off in the Software section?

    Cheers!

Hmm, couldn't find any MS Office 2010 forums. Anyone?
