nice ad as always from apple, and as always directly antagonistic.

I used to be a real mac addict, but firstly I fould that W7 is absolutely rock solid, and secondly it's these apple personal attack ads that are actually putting me off them and their product range.

I wonder how long before Apple sees virus' the like of which it's never seen, and the sad fact is that all of it's user base will be so utterly unprepared for it thinking that the big cloud of smug above their heads will protect them.

I really am beginnning to hope that 7 is everything apple fears from MS (apart from the aesthetics of course, but oh well).

Eventually there will be a massive Mac virus threat. The apparent "immunity" of Macs in this arena is due to their small market share. Why would a hacker spend the time developing a virus that targets only 6% of computer users (OS X), when they could just as easily write a virus that targets 93% of computer users (Windows). Virus spreaders and creators do it for the "fun" of disrupting people's lives, and thus they will target the platform with which they can disrupt MORE people's lives.

When people have really wanted to crack a Mac (like at hacking conventions/contests) they can usually do it in just a few minutes. The Windows computers at the same conventions/contests take one or two days to infect.

And BTW, Windows 7 has a much better-looking interface than Mac OS. Windows 7 has live transparency with custom colors. Mac OS has ... gray. Bleh. I've always found the fancy Mac FX like the Time Machine screen and Cover Flow to be more gimmicky than practical, but that's just my opinion of course. :)

Other Great technology is or was from SUN/Looking Glass (I don't know what happened to it as there is no updates)
    Project Looking Glass

Beryl and Looking Glass look very interesting...I think my No. 2 computer is getting ready to become an experimental lab.
