Well so far we have all missed the world coming to the end several times and I think we are also going to miss the PC coming to it's end for a very long time.

Technolog - Can Windows 8 save the PC?
Focusing on the title ALONE, this author also assumes that the PC is dying. Wow, really?
He is writing the story on a Windows lappy; telling us how good Apple is. Then he states the Windows lappy froze. Help is only a Window 7 forum away.
Gartner Says PC Shipments to Slow to 3.8 Percent Growth in 2011; Units to Increase 10.9 Percent in 2012Worldwide PC unit growth is on pace to total 364 million units in 2011, a 3.8 percent increase from 2010, according to the latest preliminary forecast by Gartner, Inc. PC shipments are forecast to see better growth by the end 2012, when units are expected to reach 404 million units, a 10.9 percent increase from 2011.
PC's are not dead yet.

You know, if you simply replace the sentence "The PC is dead" with "The glamor of the PC is dead" then the entire thing would be right on the money. Smart mobile devices are the glamor item. PCs used to be (At least Apple and users thought so).
But that in no way means that PCs themselves are dead. They, like cars, are an item of vitual indespensibility for the time being...
Apple again? They should surrender until they can, expensive and limiting equipment will never replace something you can build by yourself. And mobile devices are just that, mobile, and will never replace a PC.
Keep on trying Apple...
Can you imagine a workplace without pcs and using tablets instead.. a secretary or even a director behind a pad instead/with a desk.. yea no I can't see that one
Like the Asus Eee Transformer with keyboard docking station. Sitting at your desk and need to go to a meeting. Just unplug the Tablet and go and you have all your information on one unit. I remember when most Laptops had docking stations at your desk to access bigger screens and other peripherals.

No keyboard = No productivity
