    IBM Announces Memory Breakthrough

    Posted: 01 Jul 2011
IBM Thursday announced a breakthrough in computer memory technology, which may lead to the development of solid-state chips that can store as much data as NAND flash technology but with 100 times the performance and vastly greater lifespan.

Slow down IBM, we aren't supposed to see that until 2014.
That's an extreme leap in technology, how for computer technology has come since the 1950's, it's amazing.

Great news, where can I order?

Hope it won't take long to reach us consumers.

When they start out saying 'Enterprise' it means expensive

finally, the memory solution i've been looking for lol, i've always thought that Memory speeds are lacking behind the other hardware in systems nowadays, and at those speeds, you could effectively use a small amount of RAM to do Memory intensive tasks as the write speed is so fast, it can dump the old data before it reads the next lot, brilliant breakthrough IBM!

I wonder what the price will be. I guess within a couple of years they will be as cheap as chips.

Figures now that I finally broke down and bought an SSD.

Well I can quit worrying about my SSD lifetime, PCM will probably be here before it ever wears out
