Microsoft stores coming in the fall

Microsoft is intensifying its fight with rival Apple, and the House That Bill Gates Built is taking the battle right to Apple's doorstep.
Microsoft confirmed last week that it will be opening retail stores akin to Apple's stores in the U.S. this fall, likely to coincide with the release of its new Windows 7 operating system, according to CNET News.
And Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner told an audience at the Worldwide Partner Conference in New Orleans, "we're going to have some retail stores ... opened up right next door to Apple stores."
Earlier this year, Microsoft announced it would enter the retail store business and hired a Wal-mart veteran to head the initiative.
It is unknown yet on whether Salt Lake City, which has an Apple store at The Gateway mall, will be one of the first cities to get a Microsoft store.

Not entirely sure how reliable the source is, but interesting concept non the less. Anyone got any more articles on it?
