I fixed it by rebooting

ComputerWorld just seems full of idiots, I wouldn't be surprised if that was Randal using an alternate name just so he could post some more stupid crap about it and make people do stupid things with it.

pardon my ignorance but... :-)

this answers why I can go from vista partition C into win7 partition E and copy files but boot into windows7 I cannot see the Vista partition and the win7 partition is now C:...yes?

so I have to rename the Vista C: to? and where would I do that, while booted into Vista?

When in Vista if I right click C: there is a "change drive letter and paths" dialog, so is that where I would give Vista C: a new name like G: (picking a letter not already in use anywhere)?

perhaps its all academic but I would like to go back and forth to file copy/paste between systems.

These are the correct steps, but you need to do them while you are in Win 7. So that you can see the vista partition in seven. You can already see both in Vista according to your post. If you look in disk manager in W7 you will see that it has no drive letter which is why you cannot see it in explorer.

Translation of the underlined: "Google Maps had the addresses for ComputerWorld and InfoWorld switched.
