Hopefully all of this work out. I was hoping that AMD was going to do something big. We really need it.
Competion not only drives prices down, but keeps technology moving forward at a faster pace.
Theres quite a few wanting to build a new system and were waiting to see what Bulldozer looked like before starting. I am one of those.
So, Im now left with a decision. Intel or AMD.
x79 will likely be way to expensive.
Core i7 which really doesnt cost that much more than Bulldozer.
Core i5 which is cheaper than Bulldozer.
Or..
Bulldozer FX 8150.
But, looking at the facts, as they are now, it can not compete vs a i5 let alone a i7. And currently even has issues competeing againt its own predecessors.
So is the better choice to build Intel now for gauranted performance?
Or is the better choice to go with Bulldozer and hope that all software gets re-written to accomodate it, which may or may not help its performance and increasing it value?
To me, it seems to makes sense to stay with Intel ATM.
It has nothing to do with being a fanboy of either camp.
Its a simple of matter of getting the most for my money, right now.
Unless Im missing something big, looks like thats still the best choice.
