[QUOTE=pparks1;1621127]Still on back order I see, thats very frustrating, AMD must still be having problems with their foundry...

I been waiting for mine for 6 days now ..they are telling me I will get it within 30 days ...
Its faster than my current 1090T and its slightly faster than than an 1100T... thats all I really care about..

I am having problems with my current 1090T because it cant multi-task very well with 3Ds Max, Zbrush 4, Photoshop CS5... running together... my system gets bogged down running all those at once even with 16gigs of ram..

I HOPE that this Bulldozer will be able to handle it better...

You are honestly going to spend $280 for a new CPU that's a bit faster than your 1090T and that's worth it to you?

I cannot see any good reason why a 1090T would struggle with multitasking that load. And if whatever you are doing within those apps really is crushing a 1090T, I'd be surprised to see your BD chip make a huge dent into that performance. I'd be more inclined to see if your disk subsystem is the reason for the performance hit.

Please be sure to let us know when it comes in. If you can, try to time the peformance of some repeatable tasks...so we can see quantitative results to compare before and after. A gut feel, or "it feels much snappier" really is hard to quantify.

So far the first test (SiSoftware Sandra 2011 SP5)..shows Bulldozer is faster than a 1090T, but weak in .net performance:

EDIT: Second test vs other computers even an I7 2600k:

    http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n...rcomputers.jpg

3rd test: Test used: Passmark performance test 7 64bit ..CPU Mark

    My FX-8150 scored a 9,555.0

Its higher than the FX-8150 on the chart here:
    http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

But it cant reach the I7-2600K with a score of 9,986

But still this FX-8150 is performing well so far

To make matters worse, the 8150 were due to be instock at most places in the UK yesterday and for some reason non of the major suppliers have had their stock in.

I believe one site is now stating it will be a few more weeks before they receive any stock.

Are they available in any other countries yet?

Not the best of starts at all really.

We have 4/6 and both Eight's in stock here in the states! But many have low inventories or are out of the 8150's.

I'll just sit back and enjoy the performance of the Core i7s in my desktop and laptop (both are quads).

Not a surprise though... I think it's largely Intel's HyperThreading tech that's doing AMD in. I've disabled HT once to see how much it would affect performance for me, and it had quite an impact.

Im loving the performance of my FX-8150 ... I don't believe the benchmarks from these "reviewers" ..since all my tests show that it outperforms all AMD CPU's and sits there just under the I7-2600K or just above it...

Most games run perfect on it ...except Deus EX: HR ...it crashes with a blue screen error and the computer resets...
