    HP Backtracks, Says It Will Keep Its PC Division

    Just a month after reporting that HP will spin-off its Personal Systems Group into a separate company, now they are announcing that it won’t happen. Their plans have changed so as their CEO’s. Their new CEO Whitman said that,
    ” HP is committed to PSG, and together we are stronger.”
    That’s a good decision.

    PALO ALTO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced that it has completed its evaluation of strategic alternatives for its Personal Systems Group (PSG) and has decided the unit will remain part of the company.
    “HP objectively evaluated the strategic, financial and operational impact of spinning off PSG. It’s clear after our analysis that keeping PSG within HP is right for customers and partners, right for shareholders, and right for employees”

    In one of our department stores, HP computers have been drastically reduced in price in recent weeks and although I bought a desktop from them in February this year I've had no promotional offers from them at all.

    I think they were too busy trying to fix my machine, which I finally did myself!
