Firmware
I have a M4-CT256M4SSD2. Crystal Disk says firmware is 000F. Is that good or bad?
Well after many tries I think it is done.
I had dramas getting it to work.
But after much playing around in the BIOS finally got it to IDE.
For some reason only part of the BIOS changed to IDE at first, had to do a restart to get all into IDE.
Anyhow now have 000F.
lets just hope it stays on for longer than an hour.
Thanks again for your help guys.
Well thats an hour and a half and all seems fine.
Fingers crossed we have fixed the issue.
For others, if you are running firmware 0309, which solves the 5000 hr problem, then I would not upgrade to 000F unless you are having one of the specific problems it addresses. Why: your AS-SSD Write Acc times will increase from a nominal 0.2ms to 0.37ms on repeatable tests.
Sorry, how do I check which FW I am on now.
If you don't have any third party software available. Open up Device Manager. Double click the disk in question. Select Details tab and then select Hardware ID from the dropdown. The firmware ver will be shown at the end of the displayed infor.
Derikmo beat me to it.
