Done. Took 2 minutes. Piece of cake. No trouble whatsoever. And in Device Manager 0309 shows up. Applause for Crucial.

Good job Wolfgang! I just did my 128GB and it also shows 0309 in Devmgr. Also done while in AHCI mode.

64GB is the next victim. These are both new drives.

Big group sigh of relief! Kudos to Crucial for getting right on this.
Now the wait for 5000 hours to pass, lol.

Yup, very easy to do, order one and you won't be disappointed.

I just discovered I used a DVD+R to burn the FW update instead of a CD-R.

I was fortunate I had no Bluray disks laying around.

For anyone not wanting to use the cd/dvd method using a bootable usb works fine as described here: How to Upgrade Crucial SSD Firmware | StorageReview.com - Storage Reviews

The firmware 0309 to fix this issue is now available at the Crucial site:

Crucial.com Product Downloads - Firmware Updates

Release notes say you can update from 0001, 0002 or 0009
I have both the 64GB and 128GB versions and downloaded both. I see that they are the exact same size down to the last byte. Is there a difference, or can I use one disc for both drives?
