It will take a while to reach 5,000 hours of power on.

24 hours a day times 208 days is 4992 hours.

I do beleive the fix will be out before you need it.

Post it up on the SSD thread when you get time.

I will Mike, may be a few days. I'm using the 64GB SSD to make my wife a new Frankenstein PC in a new case, and then will get on with building my new one using my old case.
Lotsa parts swapping mostly, but I have a new mobo to use for mine.
The FW update is supposed to be available next week, 01-16-12

I wonder whether the new update will need FW 09 as prerequisite. Mine came with FW 02 which I have not updated yet because of the IDE/AHCI question. I would like to do the update in one run now that we know that AHCI works too.

I would wait and see and just do one FW update if possible.

I would think FW 09 fixes would be included with the new FW "??".

That seems to be what OCZ and Intel have been doing.
    That would make sense anyway.

    Mike.

Good point Wolfgang. At the moment I can't seem to get any Crucial page to display properly.

Just ordered a new M4 128GB. Supposedly the bug is to be fixed on the 16th or worst case scenario end of this month.

That leaves me plenty of time before I can reach 5200 hours.
