I have an ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe.
The firmware upgrade instructions say use Ports 0-3 and not 6 Gb/s ports.
Well my first 4 ports are 6 Gb/s!! It could be an issue for others in a similar situation.
This refers to HBA drop ins which are usually PCI/PCI-E SATA port hubs not the mother board controllers.
Thanks - looks like I misinterpreted the wording.
If still concerned post a question on the Crucial forum.
One of their techs should have an answer.
I feel 99% sure in my response. That 1% ....

Thanks Gene for finding it.
I am lucky. I have only 4 ports - 2xUSB2 and 2xUSB3. Those Dell people are really skimping considering that this is their top of the line box.
Just updated mine.
A note for anyone with motherboard add-ons like Jmicron and Marvell SATA controllers. I had to disable these in BIOS to get the update program to find the m4 drive. Also, I had to reboot twice - the m4 drive was recognized as a different hardware device after the firmware update.
Compared to the problem resolution of other SSD manufacturers I would give Crucial an A+.
Here's the insertions in full.
Wolfgang it syas nothing about the need to switch to IDE mode so you are fine. :)

Apparently the FW is the same for all four sizes of M4 drives too.
Thanks for finding it for us Gene!
