Even if it is just a one-time replacement CPU, the fee is fairly small.
Kudos to Intel, great idea
Don't pay the extra Intel have superb overheating protection which is why they can offer the option.

Overclocking with Intel is just not scary anymore , for scary you need AMD :)
Are you sure about that? I'll admit I haven't used AMD processors in quite some time, but I seem to recall that this wasn't the case. Back then (within past 3 years) if your processor fan failed on an AMD system the computer would continue to run until the processor fried. An Intel system would shut itself off rather than burning up.
Is this still the case now?
