Will the event eventually reach RTP in NC

Hey, I'm in RTP (Research Triangle Park) in Raleigh NC. Home of IBM, Red Hat, Cisco, NetApp, EMC and the list goes on. Why is the event not being hosted in this beautyful place? Even IBM uses Windows!!

Just got confirmed for Atlanta on September 28th!!! Road Trip!!!

And.... the image of the box for the Vista on the website

    http://www.microsoft.com/business/th...s/default.aspx

shows the Version as being Windows 7 ULTIMATE!!!
Sure looks like DALLAS to me..

    Vista ? Lucky Texans!

(Seriously, Tinkerdog, you best recheck your email AND your online reservations.)
(They originally gave me Philadelphia when I damn well started with Denver. Moths!)

    edit:
    Hey,
Denver now shows the black box -- They changing their minds?

The words now say "Free copy of Windows 7 at the event"

Cudda sworn it was "Free copy of Win 7 Professional" before.

(Maybe they heard that you IT Professional guys don't want no Win 7 Pro !)

Huh. They really are showing Ultimate boxes now.

Yes, they did show Professional ones before (but I don't think their own wording was different -- just "free copy of Windows 7"). If they're going to bother to do giveaways geared to IT pros and developers, they really should do Ultimate to push the features like Bitlocker, etc. They should want those attending to go back and push Enterprise and Ultimate to their friends and employers. That's the whole point of a giveaway.

Word must have gotten out. A lot of places that were still showing space earlier are now totally sold out. Only getting a couple like Cleveland that still have space.

Oh noes. Microsoft DOES realize that the US does only use like half of the OS market? the rest is Europe, other continents are minorities, but COME ON! I already have a free windows 7 Ultimate, courtesy of FlashGet , but they're effectively cutting their profits in half by not making events in Europe. I wonder what drugs Bill Gates has been sniffing lately ...

And? Microsoft has branches worldwide. Nothing's stopping them from bringing this promotion outside of the US.

While MS does hold a world-wide footprint, its roots are in america, it's primary source of income is through, you guessed it, americans buying and using MS products, it costs money to hold these events, why hold global events like this, when you can spend a fraction of the amount touring the US, and get the biggest return on your dollar... makes perfect sense to me.

typical though of foriegn countries feeling like they are "Left out" and getting the shaft by americans, never made sense to me.

Why doesnt heinekin host global events like they do across the pond? wah wah im going to go cry. :)
