Just thought I'd give you the heads up I was just accepted in 18 mins ago

I opted in on the 8th, basically the day before they took away the opt-in button. 2 days later I also got the email about my advisor name/student ID.
DEAR I OPTED ON 9TH BUT TILL NOT RECIVED ANY EMAIL OF LOGIN iD AND PASS. After how many days did u got this option
Well if I opted in on the 8th and it's the 14th... 6 days.

I should also add I'm a legit student and contacted my advisor myself on the 9th by phone to say she may be contacted by MSDN-AA for verification.

i think they do not verify because in my country this would take more than a month for verification, and there are a very huge no of students applying so they have not the time to verify each and every.
I'm just waiting for their email.

Well, before the Recent Verification Update, it took only 1-2 Working days to get the MSDNAA Verfied. but it seems like its taking a bit more time after recent addition to the requirement page(Advisor Name + Student ID).
Hope you'll get that mail soon

I'm from the UK if it matters, not USA.

And for the record, my advisor confirmed today they did contact her for verification by email. So they are verifying, at least I can confirm on some scale.

No idea how that will affect those that have signed up and aren't students if they start to pursue accounts that have already been accepted.

As MSDNAA registers you as a ACM Student student, they use your ACM student email (xxx@acm.org) So in the future all the MSDNAA emails will be forwarded to xxx@acm.org.
But automatically ACM forwards all the emails that you recieve for xxx@acm.org to the email that you used to signup for ACM.

Make sure you check your Spam/Junk for any ACM or MSDNAA mails

Windows 7 deal for college students
Hi there, I am building a new PC and want to buy Windows 7 from the cheapest place. The $30 deal for college students is apparently gone. Right now they are offering it for $65 for college students which is still a decent deal. I am attending community college and they do not sell Windows 7 nor do...

Two Students, Two Downloads?
I've got twins. Both with college emails. We've upgraded one computer. Before running the install I copied all files to a jump drive. My question would be, do you have to download the files again or as long as you pay again and get the new product ID, can you use the same install files? Or is the...
