I guess "The Cloud" won't be a fun place after all?
How is this going to affect cloud computing? Like I said there needs to be a comprehensive, legit, and transparent approach to this. Just because people are using bandwidth does not mean they are doing anything illegal.
So how do the ISPs differentiate the two if bandwidth usage is a factor in their suspicions? People are paying for it right?
or what if you're a fan of legitimate free content sites (freeware, music) and dl massive amounts of it? Ya know the whole "apps" craze, cnet, bandcamp type of sites...
How can the ISPs prove they are vetting the data without putting themselves in a position of illegal wiretapping?
And once they prove they can very well know what kind of data is being shared - won't they put themselves into a legal corner by allowing other types of illegal activity to go unanswered?
