I would hope that for the sake of the employees they are gonna re-evaluate that layoff plan.

The only reason that I still go to Bestbuy is because they have all of the computers that are on display logged on as an administrator. You know what that means I just like to defrag them and update them.

RESIGNS??? More like FIRED. I just love these big companies that thank the person for such great leadership and then he resigns by mutual agreement. Donald Trump doesn't tell people to resign, he says "Your Fired"

When I worked for ATT/NCR I was told this story about the term "Fired"

They did get the point across.

Best Buy Releases the List of 50 Stores Being Closed Next Month

Best Buy has been in the news quite a bit lately, and while some might argue any publicity is good publicity, I’m not sure even they would defend the latest coverage. First their CEO leaves amid a sea of controversy, and today they confirmed the list of 50 retail stores getting the axe.

I have mixed feelings about the closings.

I think it is important to retain brick and mortar because of jobs, and yes it is nice to be able to touch and use what you are going to buy BEFORE you put your money down on it.....that being said....

I definitely agree that BB has failed miserably to meet the challenge of online buying from Amazon and others.

My feeling is that it was arrogance and greed. These guys did not want to work hard enough to earn more customer's business, add that with sometimes downright obnoxious sales staff (BB has some of the absolute worst) and you have a recipe for disaster.

The bottom line is that BB needed lower prices, more selection, better value and much better staff. They need to sell more volume at slightly lower profit margins, it can be done, the question is will greed prevent them from realizing that.

^ It's hard for a retail store, to hire "quality" employees and pay them a wage suitable for somebody with extensive product knowledge and stay in business if they are selling at lower profit margins.
