jimbo45 - install PeerBlock and see all the people logging your torrents. I used to be a torrent dude but stopped when 'the man' was 'at my door'.

Paid-for VPN's have credit card details that can be traced.

The sad fact is that file-sharing is over.

    Hi there

Even in the UK when I use "The 'Oid" from ME with a private VPN from Iceland (still thankfully Outside the E.U and with the coming referendum will probably STILL have a 70% NO vote) download speeds even with B.T are like 1.7 Mb / sec.

Icelandic law is quite strong -- ISP's CANNOT give ANY details whatsoever to ANY agency unlerss you haven't paid the bill -- and we don't tend to have in our country a need for services like "CIA / Mossad" etc.

Moslems also have a little problem here too --I'm not aginst ANY religion -- but during ramadan when they can only break their fast after sundown -- how do they handle Icelands 23 hours (or even 24 hours over the arctic circle) summer daylight for establishing their fasts !!. So even middle eastern countries like Saudi Arabia / Egypt etc can't use their security services effectively to keep their own citizens in order.

BTW we LIKE Saudi Tourists (all 2 of then last year !!!! Kept the pub going believe it or not !!! and they went home happy. !!).

BTW Without the VPN it slows to 2.5 kbs /sec !!!).

    Go Figure ???

perhaps we should go back to using THESE again !!.

    Cheers
    jimbo

Ever been there -- I'm sure it's better than Milton Keynes, Basingstoke (Boringstoke), Luton. Bradford, Birmingham or Burnley (or scores more of places with loads of boarded up shops or just kilometres long main streets with just VILE STINKY TACKY takeaways on BOTH sides of the street with loads of rubbish and RATS at ANY time of day or Night at any time of the year. !!

Can't complain about the "Footie" in England however -- great stuff. !!

I'm even addicted to 20/20 Cricket -- have a good English mate who loves "The Barmy Army" !!.

    Cheers

Iceland was in the news over here today. Apparently, discussions are taking place betwen the Icelandic and UK governments to see if the UK's future power needs can be helped by using geo-thermal power from Iceland's volcanic terrain.

Not sure exactly how it's going to be done, but there's talk of some sort of pipeline network on the seabed so whether it'll be a heat transfer to drive steam turbine generators is anybody's guess.

As a matter of interest Jimbo, when are the Icelandic banks going to pay us back for all the money our banks lost after the banking collapse in Iceland? Just thought I'd ask.

P.S. Just found this link: http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16207200

Call me too sensitive if you like to but I do not like the undertone of your last few posts in this thread, Jimbo. Please read Forum Rules, §1.

To make my stand clear: One of the main reasons I like the Seven Forums, as well as its sisters Vista Forums and Eight Forums, is the equality. We represent all corners of this beautiful planet, all ethnic, cultural, linguistic, whatever background. My Number One Virtual Friend gets bread to his table from working in a call center in India, 2 out of maybe 5 of my real life best friends are Muslims, I am a godfather of a beautiful girl whose skin is blacker than a turned off LCD screen.

We are school kids, university students, workers, unemployed, retired, managers, consults, IT pros and noobs, anything you can think of, between 13 and about 100 years of age. And we are absolutely, 100% equal here. Not even the slightest hint of judgement against an individual or a group solely based on his / her / their background should ever be posted here.

Dear friends all over the globe, I like you. Regardless who you are and where you come from. Those few exceptions I do not like, it is not because of where you come from or your background. It is because you have done, said or posted something I do not like.

    Never modest, always sincere,

    Kari

A pertinent point that is well-articulated Kari, I agree with your sentiments 100%.

I'm sure Jimbo meant no harm, but I think we'd all do well to remember that the power of the pen (or keyboard as the case may be) is mightier than the power of the sword.

On my daily walk I see and hear children of all faiths, nationality and colour playing together in the school playgrounds with not a bad word among them and I often wonder where we go wrong by the time they are adults.

i think society is changing for the better and children are better educated to racism and bullying, once the dinosaurs have gone we will be left with nations of people with more understanding and less bigotry ,
i for one like vile stinky tacky takeaways particularly indian and chinese takeaways .
