I didn't realize the discussion of combating piracy and cracks was against the rules. A bit odd if it is.

this won't do anything for the OEM crack that came out just after the RTM was released to subscribers. Because the crack makes windows think the avtivision is genuine so (as far as Ms are aware) its a legal copy so it will pass validation.
They need to rethink the process i think.

I think some people blur the border between discussing how to crack, discussing how to combat it, and just plain talking about it (but not about how its done).

Just to try to clarify this, which will always be contentious , My rule of thumb is that apart from a news item or a direct response to a poster that cracks discussions are not allowed here, any posts mentioning cracks are a breach of the forum rules
