Bing Scoops Up 30% of the US Search Market

The geek community at large seems to be pretty loyal to the Google brand, however, out what seems like nowhere, Bing is finally picking up steam. According to a Hitwise report, Bing now accounts for 30% of all U.S. web searches, and most of their gains seem to have come at the expense of Google.

Glad to see someone chipping away at Google, I would like to see more competition.

IMHO, that's good news. Competition will keep Google on their toes and hopefully, avoid complacency.

However, I do struggle with Bing's search engine. I literally cannot find certain websites with Bing that I can with google, and so I always revert to the latter.

LOL, granted it's a dog eat dog world out there, but competition is a good thing and someone needs to start filling the gap, even though the approach may not be the best choice.
I don't agree with some of their methods, wouldn't like to see good search results which will be the best reason to switch search engines.

They need to get image search up and fine tuned, once they get that right users will switch in hordes. Because we all know many people use image search for NSFW purposes.

Yeah, the image search isn't all that great but I use Bing almost exclusively now. I find what I'm looking for so I stuck with it. It seems less ad driven than Google. At least for me.
