I want to sit on (delay) the install for a couple of months. Considering the 10 day activation requirement, do you think I would be able to wait until December to install/activate this for the first time?

Antman, not sure on that specific question. I downloaded it earlier today and at the moment working from the Enterprise Edition. I read everything there was posted about the evaluation, albeit didn't find anything that indicated whether or not you could. I was thinking the same as you, but decided to just go ahead and load it up. Thus far it appears to be more stable than the RTM or RC. If anything comes up I let you know. :)

You will not be able to set on a downloaded copy; reason being is there is a time limit built into the ISO. Basically it appears that Microsoft took this into consideration prior to offering the evaluation copy. Think the reason is because they were able to for see just that happening (someone downloads 10 copies to use and does a clean install every ninety days = 900 days). Also there is a limited amount of copies that Microsoft will allow to be downloaded, hence, once they reach a certain number of downloads, the download center for the evaluation copy will be turned off.

Before you get started with installation, we want to share some important points about this release:

If you’ve installed the Windows 7 Beta or Windows 7 Release Candidate on your PC, you’ll need to back up your data and perform a clean installation of the 90-day Trial.

The 90-day Trial is the full working version of the Windows 7 Enterprise, the version most of you will be working with in your corporate environment.

The 90-day Trial will not require a product key (it is embedded with the download), but the product will time out after 90 days of activation.
