The transition to IPv6 will be transparent to the average internet user. When (or if) IPv4 disappears completely, the only thing that will be different is when you go to ping a website or computer - you use the IPv6 address instead of the IPv4 address. You still enter www.google.com to get to Google.

    Ivp6 launched 6th June

I found that ivp6 was launched on the 6th June and a quick test is showiing me I am still with ivp4.

Now I don't know exactly how this will affect me except that the ivp6 is supposed to provide better coverage security etc as far as I can make out.

If you want to try your machine out - IPv6 | IPv6 Help sorry mods if I have posted this here but it's the only ref I could find to check out my machines - you just click on the test button for the results.

Have just found this too if anyone is interested there are some things to do on this site http://www.pcworld.com/businesscente...ml#tk.mod_stln
