    Windows 7 hot on XP's tail as top operating system

    Microsoft's Windows 7 is about to beat XP as the world's leading operating system, at least according to new data from Net Applications.

    For the month of June, Windows 7 scored a market share of 41.6 percent versus XP with 43.6 percent, the narrowest gap between the two since Windows 7 debuted in 2009.

    Yep, it's shaping up very nicely to be new XP, and will easily last another 7 - 10 years while we wait for the new and improved Windows 9 : Desktop Edition for Businesses, Enterprises and Datacenters.

    Pushing that inane interface (metro) even for the Server edition of Windows 8 was the last straw.

    No fisher price tiles for me, thank you very much!

    No problems with it so far as a gamer, except for all those titles x64 breaks. Meh. Everything else is hunky dory though.

    Windows 7 on majority of PCs for the first time

    Figures from StatCounter show Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 7, is now on the majority of all PCs, overtaking Windows XP after three years.
