    Windows 7 UK Student Offer

    We are offering students the opportunity to buy Windows 7 for an amazing discounted price, £30 for either Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional.

    You can take advantage of this offer from October 1st but you will need to be quick as it is for a limited time only and is only eligible to college and university students with a valid .EDU email address (an email address given by the college or university, for example: Suzanne@leeds.ac.uk ) , a PC that is currently running a genuine copy of Windows Vista or Windows XP and can run Windows 7.

    This offer will be available from 1st October so please check back then for details on how to take advantage of this great offer.

    a PC that is currently running a genuine copy of Windows Vista or Windows XP and can run Windows 7.

    Does this mean that i will have to reinstall vista ?

    Yes, The Upgrade Version works only if you have a genuine system already installed. Which may be XP, Vista or a version that is below the Upgrade Version that you have. I think Windows 7 RC to RTM upgrade can be done in a hardway but it’s likely that you’ll have a much more stable OS if you do a clean installation.

    The upgrade discs are supposed to work coming from genuine versions of 2000, XP, Vista, or the Windows 7 Release Candidate. You don't have to reinstall Vista if coming from one of the others.

    yes you can get 32 bit and 64 bit of windows 7 home premium or windows 7 professinal.

    I contacted Microsoft a few weeks before this thing opened, they assured me the Channel Islands are available for this offer. So on the day, I try it, and it doesn't confirm my address.

    So I re-contact Microsoft, they say they're working it out. Will I get my student discount?
