It will be interesting to see the effect of Windows 8 sales when it goes GA in a few days. All that pent up urge to buy will be released upon Windows 8.

In my opinion Windows 8 was designed to grab a big chunk of a new market for Microsoft. The ipad, tablet type people and it will. It's the poke a picture and drag with my finger people. They have no desire to know more or do more. They have no desire to know about or do things that many of us consider normal. Defrag, check and adjust permission, Device Manager, Disk Management ect. Wet fluids run down their/there leg when poking a picture and something happens. To many of these poke people Ram designates gender. Putting all jokes aside, it's a huge market and Microsoft wants a big piece of it. Microsoft also knows it will not loose people like me. I will just hang on to Windows 7 until a new real operating system made by them comes out. It's a win, win for Microsoft.
For the users who don't want to know how there machines work it'll be a godsend, personally I will not give it the time of day.
I wont even have it for free!
It's really not that bad.
The pluses out weigh the minuses.
I'm in the desktop 99%+, after a couple of days I never looked back.
But that's just me
