Windows XP turns 11, still not dead yet

    Posted: 26 Oct 2012
On the same day Microsoft loudly proclaims Windows 8 in New York, the aging-but-still-going Windows XP today quietly celebrated its 11th birthday.

On Oct. 25, 2001, Microsoft launched Windows XP, unknowingly unleashing its most successful operating system ever.

Sadly, XP has one foot in the grave. All support for it ends 04/14/2014. Fortunately, Win 7 is even better.

XP reminds me of the old Buick. There/their was a time when you said Microsoft others would say XP. Many years ago when one said Buick others would say Duce and a Quarter. They both were great for their/there time and us with some years on us can fondly remember both of them. They were the cats meow. May they both rest in peace in collectors show rooms.

After trying to run that fiasco of an OS called Millenium, XP was like a breath of fresh air and I will always have a copy of it installed somewhere, if only in a VM.

XP was definitely a good OS. Matter of fact, I still run XP MCE on an old desktop and XP Pro on an old Dell laptop. Don't you miss those 512 MB of RAM days?

I just found a new use for my XP install, so it will be getting some more "Love".

WLE Photogallery goes berserk in W7 (because of the b@&%$# Libraries ).

WLE Photogallery is controllable in XP, as XP doesn't have Libraries.
