Also agreed, that this mess is not the result of many hard working designers and engineers that worked on the platform of Windows 8.

THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DISASTER THAT IS WINDOWS 8 LIES ON THE SHOULDERS OF STEVE BALLMER, and other top execs who basically decided to STRONG ARM the customer no matter what they wanted.

The bigger question is WHY isn't Ballmer FIRED ALREADY???

    When reading this all, I've come to the conclusion that;

    1. This thread has turned into a "Let's beat the F*** out of Windows 8."
    2. That 90% of the people posting here, are b*tching about small features.
    3. That no one has REALLY given Windows 8 a good review based upon a small window of time.

With that said, 90% of what all of you have said, is invalid and should be deleted as useless bullsh*t.

All inaccurate statements, so to put it in your own words:
I've come to the conclusion that 90% of all you've said,"is invalid and should be deleted as useless BS*."

That's the only way they could get rid of them.

They aren't exactly giving them away. The sharp bit is, parents will have to use BING to get points so the schools get machines.

That cajoles the parents into using Bing, and pushes the metro madness onto the children.

I just don't see what the fuss is all about I use the machine just as I did before only now it is ten times faster!
What kind of crazy computer are you using that runs things 10x faster with Windows 8?!

At least lets have an honest discussion here...

If it ran what I run using Windows 7 10x faster I would update with blatant disregard for my GUI preferences, even if it was ugly and annoying as sin. LOL
It's by no means any crazy computer but a stripped down OS made suitable for tablet! When you gut out half of the OS you no longer see half the background services as well. MS geared 8 at tablets for the most part so they would have a Windows version for other then their new Surface Tablet series running RT.

Can't use Media Center on tablet too well if at all and why have codecs when there's no dvd drive on a tablet? Can't play movies or audio cds too well either as far as the physical media is concerned without an addon usb optical. Those were some of the things MS was looking at for the WinTablet 8 that you can install on any brand of tablet over their own Surface with RT.

    Menu Setting

Foxit Reader appears to have gone old world Spartan in keeping with W8. Maybe it's a sign of the times.
There is a skin setting hidden in one of the menus.
You can use it to restore the sensible toolbars option, instead of the "Ribbon".

Again I have to say my own experience with 8 has not been a nightmare that is being touted around - I am not enamoured with the metro style and some of the slight changes are a tad irritating to sort out but in all unless one has tried it with the normal 7 like start up menu then how can anyone pass comment?
I now have my laptop and Sandy Bridge running upgrades and I just cannot see any difference to running 8 than when I ran 7 which I still access via the 8 OS - it is a no brainer to me but perhaps I have none
What I am impressed with is the increase in speed!
