    Here's mine....

    Windows 8.1 Pro RTM 64-bit w/WMC.

No 3rd-party start menu, I just use Quick-Launch.

Still has a few bugs, but I like it better than Windows 8.

Hmm remember how we used to travel to school on those trains. I was always intrigued how the small six driven wheeled ones worked as they had no obvious piston and cylinders on the outside. The find they are housed between the driving wheels and just out of sight.
Use to love the smell of the smoke too but little did we realize what we were breathing.

Anyhow back on topic I think I mentioned awhile back I have Stardock8 on the laptop and the Classic shell on the Sandy Bridge so no real difference to 7:)

I never really liked Stardock. It had a lot of issues when I used it with Windows XP. Not to mention getting themes for it was a pain in the a**. Half the themes wouldn't work, or would install wrong

hmm I have never come across it (Stardock) before Dreadstar so I can't comment but on the laptop it works really well.

The only thing about it apart from it being paid for is the annoying emails one gets for Stardock apps which I have blocked now.

The Sandy Bridge like I said I use the Classic shell and the only thing I cannot find way around is the start button icon change. Plenty of advice but no easy way of downloading or installing the start orb that are offered.

Do you have a high quality link to the locomotive on your desktop? Thanks Tony.

I got this one from Wikipedia, Tony. Glad you like it. :)

Here's a link, it's near the bottom of the page. Click to enlarge, then just save.

Hey John, put the icon in the classic shell folder. In the Classic Shell Menu select Start Button Tab Menu, then select BUTTON iMAGE. Navigate using the control on the right and select the image, then restart Classic Shell. Sorry no screen shots confined to couch resting

Thanks a bunch, always on the look out for Steam Locomotives images. If you ever make it to Scotland take the Jacobite Steam Excursion, truly one of "The Great Railway Journeys of the World"
