Horses.
Not really. It will just continue on with 8.1. So far, I've seen nothing about 8.1 that would convince me to upgrade to it. Granted, it's an improvement over 8 but there's nothing that would justify the expense of replacing the three Win 7 retail and one OEM licenses I have that are already meeting my needs better than even 8.1 can. Even if there is a "Win 9" that removes any objections I may have to Win 8 or 8.1 (Bill Gates has hinted at it), I've already committed to using Win 7 and Office 2010 through the end of 2019.
Last fall, I only had one Win 7 machine (the notebook I bought the previous summer). I took a hard look a Win 8 and Office 2013 didn't like what I was seeing so I decided to get my Win 7 licenses and upgrade form Office 2007 to Office 2010 while I still could. M$ had their chance and blew it.
I found W8.1 to be slightly less annoying than W8.
I haven't actually tried using it for anything though.
