Sooner or later you gotta make a change....I mean you won't be able to keep Windows XP secure forever when MS stops releasing patches for it.

That says quite a bit about Vista.

    Only 1 sentence:
Back in June 2008, we learned that the chip giant decided against upgrading its computers to Windows Vista after a lengthy analysis by its internal technology staff which found no potential benefits of upgrading to the newer operating system.
    One sentence ain't much...

You mean MS is finally releasing patches for XP don't you? SP3 saw over 1,000 long awaited fixes in that alone!

Vista was far more secure from the get go but geared towards the latest hardwares leaving many behind. The system requirements for 7 should be applied to Vista and vice versa there since 7 is quite a bit lighter on resources to begin with.

Intel should check the Windows 7 pricing before taking such a drastic step.
I feel that Windows 7 is heavily overpriced.
I would keep my fingers crossed myself!

Intel doesn't have to worry about 7's retail tags since they bulk order disks with corporate licenses not simply buy each disk separately like the home user would paying full retail. But that's also how MS does the bulk of their software sales as well supplying the corporate environment.

not to mention the massive "PR Discount" they just received from that article.

Probably got most of the licenses free cuz of it.

Average PC User reads : "well if my processor is Intel made, and they use Win7, it must really be good and compatible and work fine"

The thing is not everyone is running an Intel cpu! You'll note that even AMD is also seeing a co-op launch party for 7 along with Asus at the end of the month in several locations! You'll likely run across another article about AMD testers, Asus testers also recommending 7 since these companies are hand in hand with MS there.
