PCWorld mag. and Cnet reported somewhat similar findings - but I guess people don't want to know that.

My experience with the 32bit Vista Home Premium turned out to be far superior to the quite often error laden XP both Home and Pro editions there. 7 however is MS's own realization that Windows was simply growing too big with all of the processes seen in the previous version resulting in a much more efficient 7!

Now as far as someone trying to push their Windows tweak program off we know that one all too well there!

I bet this was a marketing scheme from Iolo so everybody will buy their software thinking "Oh gosh! 7 is slower than vista and xp, I better buy that software so I can speed it up!" when it's not really true (most people).

Can't find the cnet one but is this the PCWorld one you're referring too,

You notice how they titled that one however as "May Not Be Much Faster" rather then making some claim that 7 "IS SLOWER THEN" as seen with the other one. That one there still admits to 7 being faster while not stating any proclaimed large amount.

They left that part wide open for viewer discernment while the other is trying a slam dunk approach with the intent to promote some software. We already know for a certainty that 7 shuts down faster then the two previous versions!
