    Hi there
Are you sure it wasn't George Bush. Or was it the US who broke the German WW II code when they "Captured" the Enigma Machine.

Apologies for Hollywood's History re-write to the Gallant people in the Polish Resistance who actually got the machine to the UK and for the people in the UK (Bletchley Park) who actually KNEW what they had and managed to use it. The US didn't have a CLUE what that machine actually was -- but PROPER accurate History says without the efforts of both the Polish Resistance and the staff at Bletchley Park the War would have lasted for at LEAST 18 months longer than it did.

I Like visiting the USA - and we admire a lot of what that country has done in preserving Freedom and Democracy - but sometimes its version of History is a bit like George Orwell's version of "Newspeak" in his novel 1984 and Hollywood has a tradition of re-writing actual events so that they are palatable to domestic US Cinema audiences - a model obviously learned from the old Soviet KGB.

Being a history buff I'm familiar with Enigma and Bletchley Park. Yes I know the Polish Resistance captured the Enigma machine. I also know the Japanese code was broken by the U.S.A. just before the battle of Midway.
I still believe that Al Gore invented Windows 8 and George Bush is the blame for everything else that has been bad for the last 100 years. All one has to do is watch CNN.
Well that is enough history or I could go on for ever.

Hollywood is the "Fiction Capital of the World"! Rewriting to make a movie is common place in turning something into an entertainment value rather then the actual lengthy boring detailed long drawn fact based documentarized versions of things. As a business their goal is simply to cash in on the "thrill of the moment" by adding in the suspense and others and not to be taken at face value as fact based but only "somewhat" based on facts.

As for the rewriting of the desktop concepts MS hasn't even been doing that but gearing everything towards mobile. The subscription based opt on the other hand is to become a viable service for the noobs while the informed consumer wants to own! You have to weight the scales as to what the customer base would be for subscription desktop anything.

(Gee I thought Al Gore invented Global Warming? )
